We decided very early on that our first ladies case should be small and delicate, not too thin, not too thick, with simple lugs and a small crown, arguably the most traditional representation of a vintage case within our range design-wise.
But we knew that we did not just want to create a copy of a vintage watch, so if the case was to be traditional, the dial and strap would have to something else entirely.
The majority of vintage watch dials for women have two things in common. Firstly, they feature numbers, either roman or Arabic, and secondly, they are printed.
We decided to do neither. We added very straight, highly-polished metal indexes that give the dial a great shine and lend a very modern feel.
We then added an industrial twist by using a 'train-track' minute indicator and a vertical brushed finish to the dial.
We wanted to add one further twist to our design to bring out the industrial feel and further root the watch in Camden. We added a double stitching to the vintage leather of our strap, a design based on the straps used on the saddles of the horses that pulled the boats up and down Regent's Canal.
